Aggression is in command now

The street could be divided into two.

Behind the police and in front of the police.

Behind the police was deserted but in front of the police the street was packed with people.

But nothing was happening.

The swarm wasn’t doing anything and neither was the police.

Both seemed to be content standing where they were, not doing anything.

Then amongst the crowd a hooded figure lights a firework, walks up to the police and fires it at them from just a few feet away.

And all hell breaks loose.

Screams echo up and down the street as the police rush the crowd clobbering anyone in their way.

The crowd runs for its life.

Whether they set off the fire work or not is irrelevant, the police are hitting anyone and everyone in arms reach.

Violence and aggression are in command now and all shades of grey have disappeared you’re either an officer or a civilian.

You might have been content standing still, peacefully protesting but all it takes is one reckless individual with a firework and you could end up being trampled to death.

When tensions are so high is doesn’t take much for sense to go out the window and anger to take over.
