Tenacious brainstorming

The timid brainstormer waits for a lull in the conversation. Their voice breaks from lack of use. Their ideas come tumbling out in a rush of words as they cower under the gaze of others.

Then if their suggestions are received positively, they might engage again at the next pause in chatter.

But if they are not received well the timid brainstormer will most likely shrink into the shadows licking their wounds and cursing the others.

The tenacious brainstormer on the other hand shows an ignorance towards negative reactions as they leap from one train of thought to the next.

They know that the key to brainstorming is quantity and if they pause to ponder their peers perceptions of them they’ll lose momentum and possibly sacrifice some good ideas.

So they plough on, switching off their fear of judgement and engaging wholeheartedly.

It’s not enough to just say there’s no such thing as a bad idea. You also have to ban raised eyebrows and incredulous looks because people reaction read all day long and you can’t depend on everyone to be as determined as the tenacious brainstormer.
