When there’s time pressure, leaving the house becomes the primary focus.
‘If I want to be on time 8:35 is the latest I have to leave’.
‘The flight leaves at 2 o clock, whether we are on it or not and I want to be on it’.
Whether as leaving the house whilst on holiday is more like a last resort – ‘well I’ve got nothing else to do to get ready, so I suppose I’ll leave now’.
The illusion of more time from the absence of deadlines may be the most relaxing part of a holiday.
