@Kallmekris

@Kallmekris announced on her TikTok channel that she had gotten her first acting gig and I’m not surprised.

She’s fantastic!

Her videos are funny, creative and she posts something new everyday.

From what I’ve read online, she didn’t go to acting school. She was actually working as a hairdresser as recently as the start of the COVID pandemic.

Now she still has a long way to go, but I’d say her meteoric rise is the envy of many aspiring actors.

I imagine she still had to audition but I doubt it hurt her chances that she had accumulated such a large online following.

It’s a very different proposition to take a chance on an actor nobody has heard of vs someone with millions of followers online.

I think the lesson for struggling actors is that she utilised the internet to her advantage.

She didn’t wait for a screenwriter’s approval to start writing sketches.

She didn’t let the lack of film school prevent her from filming.

She didn’t stand in line with hundreds of others to let a casting director decide her fate.

She bypassed the studios and brought her creativity straight to the audience and they loved her for it.

If you have dreams of acting, why not follow her example?
