Will the Catholic church last much longer?
On the one hand it has deep roots in Irish culture.
On the other hand the younger generations don’t appear to be adopting the cause.
I predict that if you walk into any random mass today, the average age of the attendees will be 75.
Furthermore it appears that recruiting new priests is extremely difficult with priest courses hitting all time record lows for student enrollment.
But again, the church has held a powerful role for so long in Ireland.
I know self proclaimed atheists who get their children baptized purely out of a feeling of obligation to their older relatives or simply because ‘that’s the way things are done around here.’
It’s the ultimate battle between tradition and evolution (ironic :P)
Will the Catholic church become obsolete?
