The status quo is truly a worthy opponent.
It turns bright young sparks into jaded cynical old cranks.
It requires an indomitable spirit and an indefatigable persistence to change it.
So bright young sparks I think you should be sympathetic to the beaten down old cranks because they probably tried.
Also they might not be lost causes!
There may well be a bright eyed changemaker lying dormant inside them who just needs a sliver of a chance to awaken.
