Icarus’ biopic

I theorise that every biopic, at least every rock n roll biopic, is simply Icarus’ tale spun out again and again.

They fly too high.

They overindulge on their poison of choice.

They come crashing down and learn their lesson.

The morales of the story are: don’t risk temptation, don’t get too big for your boots and stay grounded.

You have to wonder, do these tales do more harm than good?

Do they dampen ambition and clip wings?

Do they put off aspiring artists who fear they won’t be able to handle success?

Or are they necessary cautionary tales that can point budding creatives in the right direction?
