Payment means no ads

You put up with the ads on YouTube because you’re getting the content for free.

It’s irksome but it’s a trade off we’re willing to make.

Same goes for the uproar at the news of potential ads coming to Netflix.

We pay our subscription fees so we don’t have to see any ads, that’s the deal. Don’t try and change it!

But what about cinemas?

You pay for a movie ticket but then still have to suffer through ads before the movie.

Or how about regular TV?

Even the premium channels you pay top dollar for have commercial breaks.

And I wonder, how long before Spotify, Disney+, and Amazon Prime creates an expectation that once you pay, you should no longer see any ads for all mediums?
