On Bob’s commute to work each day he sees a pedestrian jaywalking dangerously. This makes Bob mad. He curses viciously at the pedestrian and it puts him in a bad mood. But that’s not all.
If they’re crossing in front of him he doesn’t slow down, he maintains his speed. He does it to show these arrogant pedestrians he’s not going to bow down to them. And he does it to try and teach them a gentle lesson. That it’s dangerous to cross the road as they do.
What Bob doesn’t realise is that it’s not his job to teach them a lesson on road safety. He should let Karma take care of them. These pesky offenders aren’t going to learn from Bob not slowing down and Bob’s mood is going to be ruined by focusing on their arrogance.
It would be great if Bob could see what is in his control. For example his reaction to these dangerous jaywalkers. These offenders who annoy Bob so much are providing him with a great opportunity to practice patience.
If Bob viewed the pedestrians this way he could save his mood and peace of mind.
Let’s hope Bob is this enlightened and self-aware.
