To read a Whatsapp message and not reply is, considered in most instances, very rude these days.
Some people will even take it very personally and hold a grudge towards another because of it.
WhatsApp, knowing these new social nuances, offers its users a couple of ways to hide. For example:
You have the option to read messages without entering the app (thereby keeping up the appearance that you haven’t officially seen the messages yet).
You can remove your last active status if you like. Thereby blocking the receiver from seeing when you were last online (some will deduce when you received the message and the last message you sent and conclude that you are ignoring them).
These features are great but is hiding going to help foster human connection?
