Perfectionism is based on the assumption that we have infinite resources, that time, money and effort is eternal. But the reality is that we won’t live forever, we don’t have endless amounts of capital and we are aging.
Another thing about perfectionism is that the project is never finished, there is always something that can be improved upon, a better turn of phrase, a glossier finish. Therefore the end date is never in sight. A project that finishes when it’s perfect will never end.
Whether as perfectionism that ends when the deadline arrives ensures good quality and a finished project.
Yes you may publish with areas that could’ve been improved but it’s better that the world sees a project near perfect rather than never see the project still being perfected.
