‘Take destiny into your hands’

 – Bottle of soap I recently used.

I’ve never seen a message like that on a bottle of soap before. In fact I’ve never seen anything other then the brand and the flavour on the front of a bottle of soap before.  

The message is a bit much for me. It feels a bit ingratiating for a bottle of soap, in my world view anyway.

Having said that when I consider the message and the product I can’t help but think there’s someone behind this who’s trying something. Who’s experimenting with a typically mundane product type to try and grab your attention. 

For me they didn’t quite hit the mark, but I think they shouldn’t be discouraged because they’re on the right track. And being on the right track, experimenting, trying to discover the right message means you get infinitely closer to the mark then simply standing still churning out the same soap bottle every year.
