If you spend most of your time simply following orders then any situation without instructions will understandably make you very nervous.
You have very little practice in figuring it out without a guide so it’s only natural to panic.
The good news is that this is a skill you can develop, the bad news is that it’s inconvenient to practice. It is an activity without reassurance and that can be terrifying. But like any skill the more you practice the better you become and the more confident you will be without the instructions.
