It’s funny how much expectations influence happiness.
Had my expectations been lower then I would’ve been delighted with the reality.
But they weren’t and despite there being some positives from the outcome they didn’t reach the highs of my expectations.
The problem was, I believe, that I let my imagination run amok and determine the level of expectation. Which ultimately set me up for failure as this level was nearly impossible to achieve in real life.
The imagination loves ambition and plants images of wild success in your head but it should not be in charge of setting the expectations. That would be a recipe for disaster.
