“We got sign off!”
The team schedules the images for publishing and proceeds to celebrate the night away.
The next day the team starts to work on the next project.
Then a senior executive chips in with their feedback and the words on every team member’s lips were:
“But it’s been signed off.”
The time for feedback has passed, those changes require a lot of work, and those making those changes will mean missing other deadlines.
The team are now in a tricky position. They want to say ‘no, you’ve missed the boat’ but saying that to a senior exec is no easy feat.
A perhaps more tactful way to say ‘no’ is to present the consequences of making the changes. Something along the lines of:
“We can make those changes but it will mean that we miss this deadline and future deadlines. Do you still want us to make the changes?”
Fingers crossed that should work. Those are my thoughts on it anyway 😀
