Running barefoot in the grass was the done thing as a kid. Shoes and socks were sent flying as you tore away from the adults as fast as you could breaking all the world records.
But as an adult, something as insignificant and trivial as running barefoot in the grass has become a risky activity.
‘What if I get mud on my feet?’
‘Can I at least leave my socks on?’
‘Can you confirm there is no poop in the vicinity?’
‘What if I get wet feet?’
‘Do we have to run?’
A muddy, wet field, potentially filled with poop is the point.
Yes it may be a tiny trip out of your comfort zone but it’s a departure all the same and all exits from the comfort zone should be applauded.
