I think you can’t have a conversation about creativity and art without talking about fear.
I think it is the heart of the matter, the crux of the problem and the key to the solution.
Sentence structure and colour blending are good skills but I think the crucial one is wrestling that terrified voice in your head.
I think advice like stay out of debt, scrapbook and write fan letters is just window dressing.
It only scratches the surface.
When there is gaps in output. Gaps the size of months and years I think we will find fear at the root of the problem.
I think the prudent question isn’t ‘what pencil are you using?’ but ‘what are you afraid of?’
