Speech fear

I think everyone imagines failing miserably at giving a speech.

The difference, I reckon, is that the good speech makers channel that fear into preparation.

The prospect of bombing horribly drives them to practice, write numerous drafts and get feedback long before the actual speech.

That way, when the day arrives, they are cool calm and collected, secure in the knowledge that the hours they put in have prepared them well.

The poor speech makers let the fear keep them up at night and waste away worrying.
