Failures harden teams

Would the Chicago Bulls have won so many championships if they hadn't been brutally beaten in the preceding years? Can you have the highs without the lows? I don't think so. I think the lows are necessary and if used properly, create a better team. If learned from, each failure is a blessing in disguise.

Attachment needle

You want to be attached enough so when the shits hits the fan you don't run away but hunker down and brainstorm solutions. But detached enough so that you don't lose your mind if the ideal outcome doesn't happen. It is a fine needle to thread but an important one.

Illogical beings

Freda could see their points of view. She agreed with their logic. The arguments against taking this path were long, varied, well reasoned and compelling. And yet the desire to do it remained.Proving once and for all that humans are not rational beings.

Resentment v acceptance

You could resent them for being this way or you could try to understand the reason why and accept them for who they are.The former is easier. The latter is harder but ultimately, I imagine, what Buddhists would suggest.Man I hate it when Buddhists are right.

Choices not mistakes

"I think this could be a big mistake" "It's not a mistake it's a choice" In the movie 'The House of Gucci' one of the characters makes an important distinction. Mistakes are unintended spelling errors, cheating on your wife is a choice. Taking responsibility for one's actions bypasses a huge amount of drama.

Anonymous support

'You see I would support the cause but I don't want to risk losing my spot in the town council because of it" The risk is the point. Change doesn't happen with 5,000 anonymous supporters. Change happens when brave souls publicly stand united willing to risk the backlash of supporting a controversial cause.
